What is SuperTrails Fuse?
SuperTrails is a real-time temporal feedback effect that creates motion-based ghosting and trailing effects. The effect blends the current frame with accumulated previous frames using adjustable decay modes.
There are three modes in this plugin, the GHOST mode is FREE!
PARAMETERS
Main Controls
Trail Style: The master mode selector that changes the behavior of the plugin.
Ghost: Standard motion blur/feedback trails.
Echo: Movement-based trails that can zoom or slide and color shift.
Freeze: "Stamps" the image periodically to create a frozen trail or "datamosh" style decay.
Ghost Mode Controls
Time: Controls the duration or "length" of the trail. Higher values result in longer-lasting trails.
Weight: Determines the opacity/intensity of the feedback loop. Higher values make the trails more prominent.
Decay Type: Selects the mathematical method for fading the trail.
Exponential: A natural, curved fade-out.
Linear: A constant, even fade-out.
Echo Mode Controls
Echo Mode: Determines how the trails move.
Zoom Mode: Trails expand outward or contract inward from the center.
Directional Mode: Trails slide in a specific linear direction.
Speed: Controls how fast the trails move away from the original object.
Angle: (Directional Mode only) Sets the direction (in degrees) that the trails will travel.
Attenuation: Controls the brightness/fade retention of the echo. Values near 1.0 keep the trails visible longer; lower values fade them out quickly.
Hue Shift: Shifts the color of the trails over time, creating a rainbow or psychedelic effect as the trail progresses.
Background Alpha: Adjusts the transparency of the background where trails are generated.
Freeze Mode Controls
Decay: Determines how quickly the frozen/stamped frames fade away to black.
Sample Gap: Controls the strobe frequency. A value of 0 samples every frame (smooth streak). Higher values wait more frames before creating a new "stamp," creating discrete copies of the image behind the moving object.
Keying Controls
Available in Echo and Freeze modes to prevent the background from creating trails.
Use Color Key: Enables the chroma keyer. When enabled, pixels matching the selected color will not generate trails (useful for green screen footage or specific backgrounds).
Deviation: Sets the tolerance (sensitivity) of the key.
Every parameter can be key framed to get desired results in any section of the video.
